The victory of Maia Sandu in the presidential elections will lead to a reset in Moldova's relations with the European Union and the dialogue will become more intense. This opinion was expressed at a press conference by the Romanian MEP Dragos Tudorache. Also, the European Parliament rapporteur on Moldova hopes that a majority in the legislative body will appear in Chisinau; he will support implementation of reforms, tvrmoldova.md reported. “I expect an intensification of the dialogue, the continuation of the discussion of a new package of conditions with a view to renewing the obligations related to the Association Agreement,” said the MEP. Dragos Tudorache said the November 15 vote showed that people want change. “I dare say, it was a vote for the path that Moldova should take. For democracy in Moldova”. At the same time, the MEP called on the political class in Chisinau to show wisdom and suggested that Moldova needs a parliamentary majority and a government to begin reforms. “If you look at what this parliament and this government have been doing recently, you cannot say that we have all the guarantees and signs that they will immediately have the enthusiasm to start this path. The legitimate expectations of society do not correspond to the current configuration in parliament,” the parliamentarian said.
