Ursula Von Der Leyen to Maia Sandu: Your Path Is Not Easy but Europe Is with You

This stated the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, who spoke at the conference of the European Parliament "Women Leaders and Their Role in the Process of Democratizing Their Countries." The conference was also attended by the President-elect of Moldova, Maia Sandu,  tvrmoldova.md reported. The President of the European Commission once again congratulated the new President of the Republic of Moldova on her election to this post. “You have put very important topics at the top of your agenda: the rule of law and the fight against corruption. You have rebelled against corruption in the education system and are fighting to separate the justice system from political influence and for this, the Moldovan people elected you as their president, the first woman president in the history of Moldova. Once again, I cordially congratulate you and your people. The path you have taken is not easy but the mandate you have received is clear. I assure you that Europe is with you,” von der Leyen said.
