On April 27, the Party of Socialists’ (PSRM) leader, Igor Dodon criticized the of the Constitutional Court’s (CC) decision, according to which annulling the decree appointing Domnica Manole as head of the Constitutional Court is unconstitutional. “This institution has become a political instrument in the hands of politicians-usurpers,” Dodon wrote. According to the socialist, its formation was trying to restore the prestige and confidence of the Constitutional Court, "but the political minority, with the support of Western ambassadors, managed to continue the vicious practice of the previous compositions of the Constitutional Court to undermine the foundations of the rule of law." “In the coming months, a fierce political struggle awaits us in the preparation and holding of early parliamentary elections. The West relies on its puppet political forces: Maia Sandu, Renato Usatii and Unionists parties,” Dodon said. "The victory of the collective West in early parliamentary elections might lead to the Moldovan state’s collapse," Dodon said and called on the pro-Moldovan forces "to unite in a common front to protect and save Moldova." What formations are the socialists willing to cooperate with, the politician did not specify. The political parties Dodon mentioned, as well as Moldova's external partners, have not yet responded to the socialist’s accusations. The administration of President Maia Sandu declined to comment on Dodon's statement. As a reminder, the Constitutional Court (CC) considered the legality of the parliament's partial annulment of the decree on the CC judge appointment and ruled that annulling this decree was unconstitutional.
