The U.S. condemns attempts to undermine democracy in Brazil, President Joe Biden is closely monitoring the situation. National security adviser Jake Sullivan posted this on his Twitter page. He noted that the U.S. supports Brazil’s democratic institutions. “The United States condemns any effort to undermine democracy in Brazil,” the official was quoted as saying by rbc.ua. “President Biden is following the situation closely, and our support for Brazil’s democratic institutions is unwavering. Brazil’s democracy will not be shaken by violence,” Sullivan wrote. U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken also commented on the situation in Brazil. On Twitter, he denounced the use of violence to attack democratic institutions as unacceptable and added that Washington joins Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva in his urge to end the unrest immediately.
