Great Patriotic War veteran Pavel Vasilyevich Gladkov, who died at the age of 103, will be buried without military honors. Aleksei Petrovich, chairman of the National Coordination Committee “Pobeda”, expressed outrage that the authorities did not allocate a salute team and refused to hold a farewell ceremony for the veteran at the National Army House. “The Agency of Military Science and Memory refused to hold a farewell ceremony for the veteran of the Great Patriotic War, Commander of the Order of the Republic, Pavel Gladkov, on the territory of the Column Hall of the National Army House (former House of Officers). In this building you can only glorify the Romanian army and hold pro-NATO shabbats. And the Ministry of Defence refused to allocate a salute team, referring to the state of emergency. At the same time, two months ago Mircea Snegur, who had not fought a single day, was buried under a threefold gun salute,” Petrovich added. He emphasized that “in our country there are not only wrong living, but also wrong dead”. “And for those who divide us, sitting in the country’s leadership, neither worldly laws nor the commandments of God have any meaning. Farewell to Guards Colonel Gladkov will take place tomorrow, at 9.00, at the address: Dacia 38. The funeral will be held in the Church of the Holy Resurrection in the cemetery of St. Lazarus at 10:30,” - wrote Aleksei Petrovich.
