On 17 March, the Moldovan Reintegration Bureau commented on a report about a drone explosion at a military base in Tiraspol. The bureau said that it did not confirm the incident, calling it “an attempt to provoke fear and panic in the region”. According to the bureau, it contacted other structures and investigated photos and videos from the scene of the incident in Tiraspol. “After studying the videos and exchanging information, we report that this incident is an attempt to provoke fear and panic in the region. The military equipment shown in the footage has been dysfunctional for several years,” the agency said. “The Moldovan authorities, who are in contact with the Ukrainian side, do not confirm any attack on the Transnistrian region,” the bureau concluded. Earlier, Transnistrian media reported an explosion and a fire on the territory of a military unit in Tiraspol. According to “Pervyy Pridnestrovskiy”, the explosion was the result of a drone attack. As reported, in January, unrecognized Transnistria claimed that Moldova allegedly trained “special combat groups” for assassinations and sabotage on Transnistrian territory. The unrecognized state did not provide any evidence or at least any confirmation of its statements.
