Former PSDE chairman Dumitru Diacov published a post on Facebook “about elections and promises”.
Diacov reminded voters that the powers of the country’s president are limited, and the promises made by the candidates for the post of head of state in the election campaign, in his opinion, are “pointless”, newtv.md reports.
“Candidates promise high salaries and pensions, low taxes, order in the prosecutor’s office and the rest of the institutions of law, and much, much more. These are the responsibilities of government.
Our president, as in Italy, Germany, the Czech Republic and many other European states, is the guarantor of the Constitution and the mediator between the authorities, the government and the opposition, society and parties, power,” Diacov wrote and published an excerpt from Moldova’s Constitution.
