Radu Musteata has resigned as Moldova’s Minister of Agriculture following a controversy linked to the Democratic Party (PDM). Prime Minister Vasile Tofan announced the resignation. “Radu Musteata, the Minister of Agriculture, submitted his resignation today, and I have accepted it. It was a personal decision, driven by a sense of responsibility, made in order to preserve public trust in the government and the process of public administration. I respect this decision. The work of the Ministry of Agriculture will continue without interruption, and a new minister will be appointed as soon as possible,” Tofan wrote on social media. Earlier, photos circulated on social media allegedly showing that Musteata had previously been affiliated with the Democratic Party of Moldova (PDM). The minister dismissed the claims, saying the image had been misinterpreted and insisting that he had never been a member of the PDM.
