Additional duties may be introduced in order to enforce U.S. rights in the WTO dispute against the EU and certain EU member States regarding EU subsidies on large civil aircraft. The U.S. has expanded the list of European products for the possible introduction of duties in response to EU subsidies on large civil aircraft.  Total tariffs rose from $21 billion to $25 billion, the U.S. Trade Representative Office said in a press release on July, 2. It is noted that this supplemental list adds 89 tariff subheadings with an approximate trade value of $4 billion to the initial list published on April 12. The new list includes products of the metal industry, some types of fertilizers, and a number of varieties of cheeses, pork products, pasta and liquors. Earlier, the U.S. Trade Representative Office announced the introduction of new duties on imports from the EU until the EU stops subsidizing Airbus. A preliminary list of such goods included civilian helicopters and aircraft, as well as their components. In addition, the list includes salmon fillets, crabs, olive oil, jams, juices, wine, carpets and many other items. Fees may apply to four countries: France, Germany, Spain and the UK. The United States estimates the cost of EU subsidies in favor of Airbus at $11 billion annually and is the subject of litigation in the WTO, the result of which is expected this summer. Airbus called potential duties unjustified. Korrespondent.net
