This decision of the Constitutional Court of Moldova is final and cannot be appealed. The President of the Constitutional Court of Moldova Domnica Manole announced Maia Sandu being the country's new president. This happened after the court approved the results of the presidential elections, Interfax-Ukraine reported on Thursday, December 10. "The results of November 15, 2020 presidential elections in Moldova are approved. The election of Maia Sandu as president of the republic is approved. This decision of the Constitutional Court is final and cannot be appealed in any way, it comes into force from the moment of adoption," the court's ruling says. Manole said that the Constitutional Court appealed to the Parliament of Moldova, pointing out the need to implement the recommendations of the Constitutional Court made when approving the results of the presidential elections in December 2016. These recommendations relate to amendments to the legislation in order to ensure correct elections, independence of the media in the election campaign, transparency of campaign financing, non-interference of the church in elections and a number of other circumstances. Recall, on November 20, the CEC of Moldova summed up the results of the second round of presidential elections and declared their winner to be Maia Sandu. She got 57.27% (943 006 votes), and her rival Igor Dodon - 42.28% (690 615 votes). Sandu's inauguration is scheduled for December 24-25. It was reported as well that Sandu accused Dodon of attempting to seize power. She believes that "the president who lost the elections" tried to usurp power by cutting her powers.
