A Major Statistical Company ranked Moldova 6th in COVID Mortality

Statista.com, one of the world's largest statistics companies, ranked the Republic of Moldova in the 6th place in the world in terms of the number of deaths from COVID-19 per million inhabitants. According to  Statista, our country has an average of 2,246 deaths per million inhabitants, which places Moldova the 6th in the world for this indicator,  cotidianul.md reported. Only Hungary (2947), Czech Republic (2788), Bosnia and Herzegovina (2699), North Macedonia (2464) and Bulgaria (2451) are ahead of Moldova in this rating. European states only rank in the top of 10 most affected in this regard countries in the world, and 8 of them are placed in Eastern Europe. The first country outside Europe is Brazil (11th place). It should be noted that Statista sets the population of the Republic of Moldova at 2.66 million, referring to the latest data provided by the National Bureau of Statistics. The Chisinau authorities estimate the population of Moldova at 3.5 million inhabitants, including in the COVID-19 statistics.
