Health authorities are urging people to get vaccinated after early parliamentary voting on 11 July. All COVID-19 vaccination centers in the Republic of Moldova will have extended working hours on July 11, a parliamentary elections day, from 7:00 to 21:00, jurnal.md reports. "We are in discussions with the Central Election Commission to ensure that security measures are observed during the parliamentary elections on July 11. To that end, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection provided the necessary amount of disinfectant solution and protective equipment. On election day, all vaccination points in the country will be open, therefore we urge people to get vaccinated after the vote. Public awareness campaigns about the COVID-19 containment and the benefits of vaccination will be also held at all polling stations. The event will be held under the slogan "Cast a Ballot- and Then Come to Get Vaccinated," said Secretary of State of the Ministry of Health Denis Cernelea. To date, the vaccination coverage of the Moldovan population is 13.5%, since the beginning of the immunization campaign, a total of 746 463 doses of vaccine have been administered.
