Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Andrei Spinu urged politicians not to speculate on the topic of the gas crisis in our country.
The appeal was made during the minister’s press conference yesterday, realitatea.md reports.
“I ask all politicians not to speculate. The situation is difficult. Such speculations and attempts to bring the topic into the geopolitical dimension do not help the process of finding a durable solution. I think everyone agrees that we need electricity, and if we need electricity, some gas should be supplied to this station, which produces this electricity,” said Andrei Spinu.
The minister’s statements came after former MP Alexandru Slusari wrote on his Facebook page that the government representative at Moldovagaz Oxana Cucerova voted for the Transdniestrian region to receive 122.87 million m3 of gas in October, or more than 72 percent of the gas required for this month, and for the right bank of the Dniester there is only 53.83 million m3, or less than 60 percent of the required amount.
Spinu explained that this power plant consumes one third of all gas received by the Republic of Moldova, which is one of the reasons why more gas was probably redirected.
