Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Nicu Popescu will pay a working visit to Moscow on November 16-17 and hold talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. “At the invitation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova Nicolae Popescu will pay a working visit to Moscow on November 16-17. The program of the visit provides for negotiations of ministers who will consider topical issues of bilateral cooperation with an emphasis on the topic of interaction between the foreign ministries of the two countries,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Monday, reports tass.ru As indicated in the diplomatic department, the parties will exchange views on major global and regional issues of mutual interest. “The parties will pay special attention to cooperation within the framework of key international organizations, primarily the UN, as well as regional integration formats, including the CIS, the EAEU and the BSEC”, the ministry added. An important place in the negotiations will be the discussion of the current state and prospects of the Pridnestrovian settlement, Smolenskaya Square informed.
