This decision was made by the Central Election Commission (CEC) at a meeting on December 8. Six out of the nine CEC members voted for it. The CEC explained its decision by numerous violations in the reports on the financing of the election campaign in local elections. Thus, the CEC pointed out the difference between the declared amount spent by the Sor Party on performances of artists and the real cost of their services indicated on their websites. Earlier, the CEC demanded that the Sor Party supplement the report on the financing of the election campaign and explain the difference in the cost of artists’ services. The party was given time for this until 16:00 on December 5. But, according to the Central Election Commission, the Shor party failed to do this. In addition, as noted by the CEC, even if we take into account the real cost of artists’ services, the expenses of the Sor Party for the election campaign in local elections exceed the maximum allowable. Representatives of the Shor party did not come to the meeting of the Central Election Commission, to which, as noted by the chairman of the CEC Angelica Caraman, they were invited. The decision of the Central Election Commission can be appealed to the Chisinau Appeals Chamber within three days. Earlier, let us remind, the CEC excluded the Sor candidate Marina Tauber from the election of the Balti mayor. The reason was undeclared expenses for the election campaign.
