The Moldovan Ministry of Defense has issued explanations regarding the movement of military equipment and artillery pieces seen on the streets of Chisinau and Cahul by local residents.
“The military equipment belongs to the National Army and was transported to training centers to participate in the “Fire Shield-2022” exercise, which will take place September 12 – 23 this year,” the ministry said in a statement posted on social networks.
According to the press release, the exercise is part of the National Army’s training plan for this year.
“We urge citizens not to be alarmed when they see military equipment plying the nation's roads and to refrain from publishing images of it on the Internet, as this could cause a wave of misinformation,” the Defense Ministry concludes.
As previously reported, eyewitnesses published a video in social networks, which recorded the passage of columns of military equipment and heavy artillery guns in Cahul and Chisinau.
