Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Nicu Popescu denied in an interview with the Romanian media current military threat of the Russian Federation to our country, because Ukraine succeeds in regional defense.
According to the Minister, Moldova is not exposed to military risks, but faces hybrid threats prevailed by the authorities, g4media.ro reports.
In an interview, Nicu Popescu was reminded that Moldova is preparing for the largest diplomatic event in its history, the summit of the European Political Community, and was asked if the authorities expect Russia to take new destabilizing steps.
“As I said, Moldova constantly undergoes attempts of internal disruption. We are very attentive to the whole range of risks. The authorities are working closely with our partners, our friends, with Romania, France, Germany, Great Britain, Turkey to ensure the security and good administration of this summit.
And basically this summit is organized in Moldova precisely because all these states want to send a powerful signal of support to our country, our European aspirations.
We have several arrangement scenarios on which we are cooperating with our partners to ensure the smooth event,” Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration replied.
