The Moldovan authorities condemned Russia’s attacks against Ukraine. Thus, President Maia Sandu, Prime Minister Dorin Recean, as well as the Foreign Minister Mihai Popsoi commented on the discovery of the wreckage of a combat drone in the south of Moldova. “Russia’s war with Ukraine has once again come close to home in Moldova. The fact that the wreckage of a Shahed drone has been found in southern Moldova reminds us of the grim reality we face. Russia’s aggression endangers the entire continent. It is necessary to continue supporting Ukraine,” Sandu wrote on social network X (former Twitter). Prime Minister Dorin Recean “strongly condemned Russia’s unjustified attacks against Ukraine, which again affected our country as well.” “Today wreckage of a drone was found in southern Moldova. An investigation is underway. Public security is ensured by the authorities and there are no risks for local communities,” the prime minister wrote on social network. Foreign Minister Mihai Popsoi said Russia’s “savage attacks on Ukraine directly affect Moldova as well”. “The wreckage of a Shahed drone found today in the south of the country near the border is a vivid reminder of the violence and destruction sown by the Kremlin. #StandWithUkraine,” Popsoi wrote in X. Recall that on 11 February, the Border Police found fragments of a Shahed-type drone near the Moldovan-Ukrainian border, not far from the village of Etulia in Vulcanesti district. According to the authority, the drone attack took place on the night of 9-10 February in the Izmail raion of Ukraine, near the border with Moldova.
