Pavel Postica, deputy chairman of the electoral body, said that a notification to this effect had already been sent to the Justice Ministry.
Postica claims that the political party failed to fulfil its legal obligations to submit financial reports, including during the period when its activity was restricted by a final decision of the Chisinau Court of Appeal, Radio Moldova reported.
“We found that the political party, including during the period of restriction of its activities, did not comply with the requirements of the mentioned legislative acts, did not submit all the necessary documents to exercise control over the financial activities of the political party. These actions took place even after we had requested other documents to control their activities. Thus, within a calendar year there are consecutive violations, which, from our point of view, I consider as non-compliance with the requirements of the legislation, which makes it possible to initiate a judicial process to terminate the activity of the political party,” Pavel Postica said.
On the other hand, the leader of the political party, Alexei Lungu, denies the accusations and says he will appeal the decision in all the highest courts in the country and abroad.
“The Chance party is clean before the tax authorities, before the CEC. All reports were submitted on time, according to the legislation of the Republic of Moldova. At present, the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova and all the values for which our ancestors fought are being blatantly violated,” Lungu said during a flash mob organized this morning in front of the CEC building.
Pavel Postica told Teleradio-Moldova that the final decision is made by the Ministry of Justice, which must examine whether the arguments presented by the CEC are sufficient to dissolve the party.
