After joining the opposition, the PDM leadership repeatedly announced the beginning of a vast party reforming. In an interview for the Unimedia portal, Democrat Andrian Candu told the stage this process is and what the main changes are to be about: “I would not call it a reforming. Firstly, the leadership has changed, and secondly, all the constituent and statutory bodies of the party have not yet been formed. There are several issues related to the internal structures of the party, which concern youth organizations, organizations of women and the elderly. But some development strategies and action plans are under development, including for 2020. The decision-making process is still under discussion and should take place in a transparent, collegial manner so that there is no disappointment or dissatisfaction. This is a transformation process that does not happen overnight. We have always been in a process of change. Now we must conclude whether these were good transformations, whether we made progress or if we regressed. The peculiarity of 2019 was that the PDM went over to the opposition and, thus, requires a different approach,” Candu said. When asked whether new faces will appear in the PDM in the context of these transformations, the deputy replied: “This is what we are trying to do. New people who haven’t been a part of team management before have already been identified. Of course, we will have new ideas and people at the level of vice-chairmen. The party needs new faces, not just images, but ideas, new approaches.”
