On Wednesday, February 12, the First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the United Nations Dmitry Polyansky said, reports Interfax. “In connection with the fifth anniversary of the Minsk agreements today, Russia requested on February 18 to hold an open meeting of the UN Security Council with the participation of an OSCE representative to analyze the implementation of the agreements,” Polyansky said. According to him, the Security Council meeting can be scheduled for Thursday afternoon. Earlier, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko said that the Minsk process can be considered failed if elections are not held in the uncontrolled territories of Donbass within a year or the process of troop withdrawal is delayed. Recall, on December 9, the summit of the leaders of the Norman four countries was held in Paris. The presidents of Ukraine, Russia, France and the Chancellor of Germany discussed issues of resolving the situation in the Donbass and emphasized in the final document that the Minsk agreements remain the basis for the work of the Norman format.
