Democrats and socialists held the first round of negotiations to create a ruling coalition. The discussion, according to the honorary chairman of the PDM Dmitry Diacov, "proceeded in a friendly atmosphere." Nevertheless, Diacov said that  there was no discussion on candidates yet, and there was no talk about the division of seats in the ministries,  agora.md reports. “We want to inform you that we held the first round of discussions with colleagues from the PSRM. The first exchange of views was about the possibility of cooperation and formation of the ruling coalition and about the prospects for stabilizing the situation in the Republic of Moldova. We put forward the project for European Moldova. Based on this, we will discuss the extent to which we can participate in the coalition,” Diacov said. According to the MP, it is important for PDM to put an end to “speculation that the Republic of Moldova is deviating from the European path”. “We have the same situation as at the beginning of Philip’s reign. If we accept the idea of joining the coalition, the PDM should act as guarantor that we will not back down from the course initiated ten years ago. The discussion was friendly. We did not discuss specific institutions, as speculated about in the press, but areas of activity. The priority is involvement in sectors related to external relations, external partners. Otherwise, we will see what kind of continuation all this will receive,” Diacov said. He also emphasized that the separation of ministries was not discussed, but stated: “There are nine ministries. If 50% of the ministries are led by PDM, that would be normal.”
