In the context of global efforts to develop an effective COVID-19 vaccine, Moldova expects it will be available to the country's population as well. According to the MFAEI press service, so stated the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Oleg Tsulea, during the meeting with the European Commissioner for Health and Food Safety Stella Kyriakides,  infotag.md reported. At the videoconference Tuesday meeting, the parties discussed Moldova's cooperation with the European Union in the field of healthcare in the context of the pandemic. The Minister informed the interlocutor about the measures taken by the authorities to combat the pandemic, confirming the interest of Moldova in deepening cooperation with the EU in the field of health through participation in regional and bilateral programs, in particular, in the new EU Regional Initiative on Health Security. He thanked the European Commissioner for granting Moldova observer status to the EU Health Security Committee, which is an important platform in managing the pandemic at the EU level. Oleg Tsulea also expressed gratitude to the member states and EU institutions for supporting Moldova and providing it the possibility to jointly with WHO purchase medical and protective equipment.
