Azerbaijanis will try to restore normal relations with the Armenian people, Aliyev said.
Azerbaijan is ready to end hostilities if Armenia withdraws its troops from the self-proclaimed Nagorny Karabakh and provides Baku with a clear plan of retreat, Republican leader Ilham Aliyev said on 4 October.
"Our ceasefire condition is that Armenia should propose a plan for troops withdrawal from the occupied Azerbaijani territories in Nagorny Karabakh. It should not be in words but implemented in deeds, on what days and which territories will be liberated," Aliyev said in an interview with Al Arabia.
The conflict between the states must be resolved through peaceful dialogue, the President of Azerbaijan says. He also stressed that his country will try to restore normal relations with the Armenian people, despite the aggravation that has occurred.
Earlier, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that Armenia is ready to agree to peace negotiations if they are conducted in the OSCE Minsk Group format.
Korrespondent.net reported that most international observers agree that the exacerbation
can only be resolved through Turkey.
