The G20 has pledged to help the countries hardest hit by the novel coronavirus pandemic.
The G20 countries have declared the need to urgently establish control over the new type of coronavirus spread, since the recovery of the global economy directly depends on this. This was stated in the G20 summit final statement, Reuters reported on Sunday, November 22.
"We are determined to continue, as long as necessary, use all the means at our disposal to preserve people's lives, jobs and incomes, support the recovery of the global economy, as well as increase the resilience of the financial system, while preventing risks of declining economic activity," the communique informed.
In addition, the summit participants pledged to help the countries most affected by the new coronavirus pandemic.
"We will continue making efforts to protect lives and provide assistance. <...> It is necessary to coordinate our actions at the global level and act in solidarity. We strive to lead the world to recovery from the pandemic," the document said.
Recall, the G20 summit was held from 21 to 22 November under the chairmanship of the King of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdel Aziz Al Saud in a video conference format. The meeting participants discussed first of all measures to combat the COVID-19 pandemic and the process of global economic recovery.
