The company plans to cut vaccine supplies to Europe from next week due to the reorganization of production. Six EU countries have sent a letter to the European Commission with a complaint about the supply of vaccines against coronavirus by Pfizer and BioNTech. This was announced on Friday, January 15, by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health of Finland. "In the letter, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Sweden and Denmark jointly appeal to the European Commission with a request to help intensify the production of the vaccine and speed up its delivery," the message says. Countries also expressed concern that Pfizer plans to cut vaccine supplies to Europe from next week. The company explains this by plans to reorganize production, which will make it possible to increase it from 1.3 billion doses per year to 2 billion. In turn, the European Commission demanded that Pfizer deliver to the EU in full all the contracted doses of the vaccine in the first quarter. "I had a conversation with the head of Pfizer, who promised to compensate for all delivery delays in the first quarter. We understand the difficulties in deliveries, but we expect that the delivery parameters will be met," said Ursula von der Leyen, head of the European Commission. The day before, it was reported that 23 people died in Norway after being vaccinated with the Pfizer COVID vaccine. All deceased are over 80 years old and with weakened immunity. And today it became known that in the Netherlands about 100 cases of side effects were recorded after the introduction of the Pfizer / BioNTech COVID vaccine. There are two known cases of severe allergic reaction.
