President Maia Sandu said that relations with Russia are important both from the point of view of the large number of citizens who work there, and from the point of view of trade relations, "despite the fact that we have certain problems." The statement of the head of state was aired on the In PROfunzime show on ProTV, deschide.md reported. “I intend to try to solve these problems, especially those related to the trade regime. Despite the fact that we are part of the CIS trade regime, we have been deprived of some of the opportunities that this regime offers, we will continue to discuss with the Russian Federation in order to obtain these advantages and so that Moldovan producers can export both to the West and to the East”, - said the president. At the same time, the head of state said she was open for a visit to Russia. “Now is the period of a pandemic, a political crisis that does not create certain conditions, but we are discussing this through diplomatic channels. We did not discuss the visit, but we are discussing specific issues. I am talking about this with the Ambassador of the Russian Federation. I also wrote several letters, including about the vaccine. We are grateful to them for this vaccine,” Sandu said.
