President Maia Sandu expressed gratitude to the high-ranking officials of the European Union for about having transferred 745 million lei to the republican budget yesterday.
“Less than two weeks after the decision of the European Union to resume financial assistance to the Republic of Moldova and provide our country with grant aid of about 745 million lei, the money was transferred to the budget. I am glad that this is happening on the very day that Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita is discussing new support programs for Moldova in Brussels, including the provision of the second tranche of macro-financial assistance in the amount of 50 million euros.
The EU's support comes at a difficult time - we still need resources to fight the pandemic and preserve people's good health, to support the economy and to achieve the transformations we promised our citizens. This is a difficult path, but we are not alone and we thank the European Union for being with us,” said Maia Sandu in a message on social networks.
Recall that today, Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita announced that the European Union has allocated 36.4 million euros to the Republic of Moldova, promised as direct support to the state budget to ensure macro-financial stability and economic recovery.
