Prime Minister of Moldova Natalia Gavrilita said that the government is not discussing the issue of the country’s withdrawal from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
“We participate in the work of the CIS. We use this platform to debate various topical issues. Within the CIS, we are discussing various problems with the Commonwealth countries,” Gavrilita said on Monday evening during a broadcast on the ProTV channel, interfax.ru reports.
Taking journalists’ questions in that regard, she said that “Moldova has no such plans”, stressing that “Moldova is interested in the CIS markets where Moldovan products can be sold.”
“There are also problems with our labor migrants, there are other issues that we are discussing within the CIS framework. The current Moldovan authorities, even in the election campaign, advocated a balanced foreign policy. And we adhere to this policy. We strive to cooperate with everyone, we act in the interests of our citizens,” Gavrilita told.
