This is the fourth delivery in the framework of Washington’s security assistance in the amount of $ 60 million, “which President Biden allocated to Ukraine”.
80 tons of ammunition were delivered to Ukraine from the USA. As the US Embassy in Kiev reported on Twitter on Sunday, November 14, this is the fourth delivery within the framework of Washington’s security assistance in the amount of $ 60 million, “which President Biden allocated to Ukraine”.
Agreements on the supply of American military aid were reached during the visit of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky to the United States. Supplies for another $ 60 million were discussed, in addition to the previously agreed volume of $ 250 million. Previous shipments of additional aid were delivered to Kiev on October 10, 18 and 22.
The weapon delivery takes place amidst the aggravation of the situation in the Donbass. The Russian Defense Ministry believes that the activity of the United States and NATO in the Black Sea is connected with “the study of the theater of military operations in case Kiev resolves the conflict in the southeast by force”. Earlier, the American media indicated that the United States has data on a “possible military operation” by Russia against Ukraine. The Kremlin calls such allegations groundless.
Assistance to Ukraine for hundreds of millions of dollars
Ukraine has been receiving logistical assistance from the United States during all previous years. Under President Donald Trump, Washington allocated $350 million to Kiev as part of military assistance in 2017 and 2018, $250 million in 2019, and $300 million in 2020. In addition, the Trump administration approved the sale of lethal weapons to Kiev – Ukraine began receiving Javelin anti-tank systems.
