The US State Department told the Ukrainian authorities that in the next 10 years the country will not be able to become a member of NATO, AP writes.
It is noted that the United States and NATO reject the demands of Russian President Vladimir Putin that they permanently renounce Ukraine’s membership in the Alliance.
“Senior representatives of the State Department told Ukraine that its membership in NATO is unlikely to be approved in the next decade,” the report says.
As we know, in Russia, the question of Ukraine's possible accession to NATO is considered a “red line”. Putin discussed this issue in detail with US President Joe Biden.
