Any actions that would threaten the security of Russian peacekeepers in Transdniestria will be regarded as an attack on Russia.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated this on Thursday at a meeting with MGIMO students and faculty, tass.ru reported.
“Everyone should understand that any action threatening the security of our servicemen [in Transdniestria] will be considered under international law as an attack on Russia, as it was in South Ossetia when our peacekeepers were attacked by [former Georgian President Mikheil] Saakashvili,” he said.
