With the current volume of gas supplies, the Moldovan GRES can supply 45% of the needs of the right bank of the Dniester, but it does not want to do so. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Spinu in an interview with Euronews Romania, reports infotag.md. He said that the supply of electricity from the left bank has decreased for an objective reason, due to a 50% reduction in the supply of Russian gas, but even in these conditions, the Moldovan GRES can provide the right bank at least 45% of what is needed. “Unfortunately, they refuse to supply this 45%. And we can assume that this (together with the reduction of Russian gas supplies – ‘I’) is part of the same scenario (developed in Moscow – ‘I’),” Spinu said. According to him, Chisinau is continuing a dialogue with Tiraspol in order to come to an agreement. Spinu said that since November 1, when the supplies from the left bank were stopped, Moldova has been buying about 88% of the electricity from Romania. At the same time, he said, the risk of possible blackouts is high, “it could happen any day” and therefore the authorities urge citizens to cut down.
