The former Prime Minister of Romania, Ludovic Orban believes that unification with Romania would be the shortest way for Moldova to integrate into the EU and NATO.
According to Orban, this possibility cannot be ruled out, especially since our country is threatened by Russia, reports unimedia.info
“There are two ways to integrate Moldova into the European Union. The long way is to integrate the country with all its problems and all its peculiarities, while the shortest way is to integrate with Romania.
This idea cannot be discounted. Such a possibility exists. From my point of view, it is a legitimate aspiration, because outside of history, which was not divided and not determined by the will of the Romanian people, it was an imposition from the outside,” Ludovic Orban said.
The European Council voted to grant the status of candidate states to Moldova and Ukraine.
Moldova signed an application for EU membership on March 3, 2022. On June 17, 2022, the European Commission recommended granting candidate status to Ukraine and Moldova.
