U.S. Undersecretary of State for Economic Growth, Energy and Environment Jose V. Fernandez will visit Chisinau on February 8-10.
He will meet with representatives of the Moldovan government, business community and civil society, infotag.md reports.
According to the U.S. Department of State website, the main topics of discussion will be measures to overcome the energy crisis, soaring inflation and the negative impact of the war in Ukraine on the Moldovan economy.
Also, cooperation “in addressing some of the most pressing global challenges, including supply chain sustainability, transition to clean energy and climate change, protection and promotion of critical and promising technologies,” will be discussed.
The U.S. official will exchange views with his Moldovan counterparts on the prospects for trade and investment between the two countries, Moldova’s European integration and energy security.
He will also hold a round table with members of the Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Moldova. From Moldova, José V. Fernandez will travel to Paris to lead the U.S. delegation at the OSCE Ministerial Meeting on Responsible Business Conduct on February 12-15.
