The ex-Deputy Head of the General Police Inspectorate Gheorghe Cavcaliuc posted on social networks that the former Deputy Prime Minister, and now the SG of the Office of the President of Moldova is a defendant in a criminal case that could become resonant. As enews.md reports, “Andrei Spinu, “The Money Box” of Maia Sandu and the PAS, is on trial for serious fraud. Spinu is suspected of serious corruption for almost EUR 1,000,000, under the Criminal Case No. 100.2022960133 at the initiative of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office dated April 28, 2022 under Art. 324 par. 3 subpar. a) and b),” Gheorghe Cavcaliuc said. “Only for this crime, Spinu will go to jail for a term of 7 to 15 years, with disqualification of holding public office for a term of 10 to 15 years. According to the sources, Maia Sandu is aware of this case, but she is covering for Spinu because she does not yet control all the PAS deputies who are still under his influence,” the fugitive ex-Deputy Head of the General Police Inspectorate said. “The same sources report that prosecutors were going to detain Andrei Spinu in the spring with the consent of Maia Sandu. Recently the president instructed the Prosecutor’s Office to postpone the detention of Andrei Spinu until the summer. How do you like the fight against corruption and the hypocrisy of Maia Sandu?” Gheorghe Cavcaliuc sums up.
