Head of State Maia Sandu convened a meeting of the Supreme Security Council on Monday, March 20.
“The general meeting of judges has postponed the appointment of members to the Superior Council of Magistrates. I understand that the judges nevertheless decided to block cleaning up justice and continue to put obstacles in the way of restoring justice in Moldova,” Sandu wrote on Facebook.
The general meeting of judges was held in Chisinau today to elect four members of the Superior Council of Magistrates from among the five judges of first instance, who were evaluated by the preliminary commission.
The last general meeting of judges took place in March 2019. All meetings since 2019 have been rescheduled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
