Head of state Maia Sandu is the favourite of Moldovans for a second presidential term. At least that’s what a new poll conducted by iData shows.
According to the poll, Maia Sandu will face Socialist leader Igor Dodon in the second round of the election. The poll shows that 30.4% of voters would vote for candidate Maia Sandu in a possible presidential election. Igor Dodon, chairman of the Party of Socialists, comes second with 18.3%, followed by the imprisoned Ilan Shor who would get 12.2% of the votes. The top five also include mayor of the capital Ion Ceban and ex-premier Ion Chicu. The iData poll was conducted on a sample of 1,049 people between April 27 and May 8, with a 3% margin of error.
