Deputy Prime Minister for Country Reintegration and Moldova’s Special Representative for Transnistria settlement negotiations, Oleg Serebrean, is in Berlin, attending the roundtable conference, which is discussing the Transnistrian conflict settlement. The Moldova’s National Bureau for Country Reintegration reported on Monday that the forum is being held on June 4-7 under the auspices of the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP). The event has brought together state officials and experts from several countries. “I will also hold consultations with colleagues from the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Federal Chancellery on the latest and expected developments in the Transnistrian issue,” Serebrean said. Since 2010, for several years, high-level OSCE conferences on the development of confidence-building measures in the process of settling the Transnistrian conflict have been held in Germany in the summertime. The conference has not been held in recent years. Josep Borrell, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission, said at the European Political Community Summit in Chisinau that the Transnistrian issue will not interfere with Moldova's EU accession process. And President Maia Sandu stated that, “Moldova will not give up Transnistria, but intends to solve two problems in parallel - the reintegration of the country and Moldova’s integration into the EU.”
