The overnight attack on the naval base in Novorossiysk resulted in damage to the landing ship “Olenegorsk Miner”, the Ukraine Security Service sources inform the BBC News Ukraine. The Ukraine Security Service also said that the operation had been carried out jointly with the navy. Officially, Kyiv did not claim responsibility for the attack. Russian bloggers’ Telegram channels published a video of a ship being towed and tilted on its side. Ukrainian media published the footage allegedly shot by the surface drone that attacked the “Olenegorsk Miner”. “The video shows a Ukrainian surface drone stuffed with 450 kilograms of TNT attacking an enemy ship with about 100 crew members. [...] All statements by the Russians about the ‘repelled attack’ are fake,” the Ukrainian military-affiliated Telegram channel Operativnyy ZSU messaged. The Russian Defence Ministry earlier officially confirmed the information about the sea drones attack on Novorossiysk, but said that “in repelling the attack, the unmanned boats were visually detected and destroyed by fire from the regular weapons of Russian ships”. Novorossiysk Mayor Andrei Kravchenko said that during the attack “the crews of the ‘Olenegorsk Miner’ and ‘Suvorovets’ ships reacted immediately and managed to avoid the consequences of the unmanned boats attack “.
