The Bashkan of Gagauzia, Evghenia Gutul, urged the deputies of the People’s Assembly (PAG) to approve the composition of the Executive Committee of the autonomy. She claims that her team submitted the documents in compliance with all the requirements.
“When I was elected bashkan, I promised that we would work and not engage in politics. I am sure that people did not vote for me or you to watch a soap opera called ‘approval of the executive committee’,” Gutul said in an appeal published on social media.
According to her, she replaced all the people in her team who do not speak the Gagauz language.
“In turn, I urge, to approve the executive committee and start work. Dear deputies, I want to believe that your intentions were sincere. We’ve heeded to your requirements,” Gutul said.
Last week, she presented a list with the updated composition of the Executive Committee of Gagauzia. Orhei Mayor Pavel Verejanu and Iurie Kuznetsov, the legal adviser of the banned “SOR” party, were not on the list.
Evghenia Gutul, with the help of fugitive politician Ilan Shor, presented the team of the Executive Committee of the autonomy back on 27 July. However, its composition has not been approved so far. During the discussions in the PAG, questions arose both to the presentation of the Executive Committee and to its structure.
