According to Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova, Gazprom has been a reliable supplier of energy resources for decades. Russia urges Moldova to refrain from politicizing bilateral cooperation in the energy sector. It is stated in the widespread commentary of the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova, tass.ru reports. “We would like to note that PJSC Gazprom has been a reliable supplier of energy resources for decades. We urge official Chisinau to show a similar responsible approach to fulfilling its obligations, as well as to refrain from politicizing practical issues of bilateral cooperation, including in the energy sector,” the diplomat said, commenting on statements by Chisinau about the “lack of documentary confirmation” of the Moldovan side’s debt to Gazprom. “Corresponding statement has already been made by PJSC Gazprom, which is in charge of this issue,” Zakharova recalled. “The Russian company expressed categorical disagreement with the audit carried out by the Moldovan side of Moldovagaz’s historical debt to Gazprom and declared its intention to continue defending its legal rights”.
