Romania will soon receive a modern drone defense system after a number of incidents with falling drone debris used by Russia to attack southern Ukraine. The new system will be installed on the border with Ukraine. Romania will receive this system with NATO’s consent on the basis of an intergovernmental agreement with a partner country.
According to the portal’s interlocutors, it is one of the most powerful anti-drone systems in Europe. Previously, the Romanian Defense Ministry concluded that the drones on the Romanian territory fell by accident - they were Russian drones, shot down by the Ukrainian air defense.
In late September reports came that Romania was moving air defense systems closer to its villages on the Danube River bordering Ukraine because of the incidents involving drones.
