According to interim Moldovan Prosecutor General Ion Munteanu, there are enough evidence to prove the involvement of Gagauz Bashkan Evghenia Gutul in criminal actions, and a decision on the criminal case will be taken soon. “Gutul appears in the criminal case, which is now being finalized. I think that a decision on this criminal case will be made in a relatively short time. The case has been sent to court,” ziua.md quoted Munteanu as saying. “From our point of view, there are enough evidence to confirm the fact of Ms. Gutul’s involvement in certain facts, in criminal acts,” the acting prosecutor-general said in a TV programme on Jurnal TV. Munteanu made these explanations after Gutul published a picture of her shaking hands with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The prosecutor was asked on TV to talk about the cases in which the bashkan is involved and her possibilities to make such visits. As previously reported, the head of the Gagauz autonomy, Evghenia Gutul, arrived in Moscow on 1 March. The chairman of the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia, Dmitriy Konstantinov, came together with her. According to Gutul, she told the Russian president “about the lawlessness of the authorities in Moldova”.
