Russia has succeeded in moving the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) conference from Chisinau to Rome amid Moldova’s non-admission of the Russian delegation.
FAO is the UN specialized agency leading international efforts to fight hunger.
“It was possible to move the conference venue thanks to the coordinated efforts of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the Russian embassy in Chisinau and the Russian permanent office to FAO,” Zakharova said.
The event will take place at the organization’s headquarters in Rome.
On 29 March, the Russian Foreign Ministry summoned Moldovan Ambassador Lilian Darii and protested the expulsion of a Russian diplomat from Chisinau and the non-admission of a Russian delegation to the 34th FAO Regional Session, which was to be held in Chisinau from 14-17 May.
