Moldova will receive 30 million euros in financial aid from Norway. The money is earmarked for the energy sector and will come through the Ukraine Support Programme. The announcement was made yesterday by the Norwegian prime minister during President Maia Sandu’s visit to Oslo. The Royal House organized the ceremony and the head of state was welcomed with military honors. This is the first state visit of a Moldovan president to Norway. Maia Sandu was accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Energy and the Minister of Defense. Norwegian assistance to Moldova increased significantly last year, especially in order to strengthen energy security. Moldova is now the seventh largest recipient of Norwegian aid.
