The Russian army has fired more than 40 missiles of various types at Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelensky has said. Kyiv, Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, Slovyansk and Kramatorsk were hit. Residential buildings, infrastructure and a children’s hospital were damaged.
Kyiv: 16 dead and 37 injured are already known. The explosions took place in the Solomenskyi, Shevchenkivskyi and Dnipropetrovsk districts of the Ukrainian capital. At least 16 people became victims of the Russian attack on Kyiv so far, 37 residents of the city were injured.
The Ukrainian Air Force claims a series of missile strikes on Dnipro and Donetsk oblasts. As a result of the attack on Dnipro, a person has been killed. Six people are known to be wounded, one of them is in a serious condition, the head of the region, Serhiy Lysak, has said.
In Kryvyi Rih, 10 people are known dead, the number of injured has increased to 41, said the chairman of the city’s Defense Council, Oleksandr Vilkul. A fire has been extinguished at the impact site and debris removal is ongoing.
At least 3 people have been killed in Pokrovsk, Donetsk oblast, according to local authorities.
Russia has fired its missiles at Ukraine on the eve of a three-day NATO summit in Washington, where allies will discuss support for Kyiv in the coming months, including talk of beefing up air defenses.
