EU ambassador Pawel Herczynski said that the current rhetoric of the Georgian authorities, who had adopted the law “On Transparency of Foreign Influence”, was anti-Western and anti-European and was “completely incompatible with the declared goal of joining the European Union”.
In this regard, Herczynski announced that the process of the country’s integration into the EU had been suspended. The €30 million allocated to the Georgian Defense Ministry were frozen.
“Unfortunately, Georgia’s accession to the European Union has been suspended for the moment. This is really sad,” the ambassador told journalists.
