This became known at the end of a press conference on Thursday, 5 December.
Prime Minister Dorin Recean has requested the resignation of three people:
- Energy Minister Victor Parlicov
- head of Energocom Victor Binzari
- member of the supervisory board of Moldovagaz, Sergiu Tofilat.
Until a new energy minister is appointed, the sector will be managed by the Prime Minister.
“I had absolute confidence in Minister Parlicov, and he had my support. And I did not think that I would be forced to check all the details of his activities. Yesterday, during the meeting, I saw a lack of coordination between institutions, there was no coordination in the purchase of fuel to provide gas at the best possible moment,” Recean said.
Prime Minister gave orders to Moldelectrica and Energocom
- Moldelectrica should “provide interconnection for a larger volume to import electricity if necessary”.
- The companies should also “prepare scenarios for focal interconnection along the high-voltage line with Romania”.
- In addition, to coordinate with Ukraine “logistics, maintenance and repair of the high voltage line Isaccea-Vulcanesti on the territory of Ukraine”.
- Energocom should also conclude interconnection contracts so that citizens will have electricity in case the Cuciurgan power plant fails to operate.
- Energocom must enter into reserve contracts “so that citizens can receive natural gas”.
