Prime Minister Dorin Recean said that the right bank of the Dniester will not buy electricity from the Cuciurgan power plant, even if gas supplies to the left bank are resumed.
According to Recean, the resumption of supplies does not guarantee that Moscow will not stop them again after some time. The prime minister said this during the programme În Profunzime, protv.md reported.
“We must first of all strive for stability of gas supplies. The resumption of gas supplies to the left bank of the Dniester, regardless of the volumes, does not guarantee that they will not stop in a month, two, three or even every fortnight. As we have noticed, this costs us more. What is important now is that we all adapt, complete the construction of the Vulcanesti-Chisinau power transmission line and thus ensure security of supply and then the optimal cost for Moldovan citizens. Only if there are firm guarantees that there will be no interruptions in gas supplies, which, in my opinion, is unlikely,” Dorin Recean said.
